Doctoral Strategy
Work has begun to develop a set of guiding principles for doctoral education at Sussex. These values have been drafted with input from members of our Doctoral Committees, including our PGR elected representatives. The principles have recently been endorsed by the University Executive Group, and we are now seeking your views on actions that could be taken, to deliver the principles.
We are seeking your suggestions and ideas on how the University can turn the principles into a strategic action plan that effectively reflects our vision and aspirations for doctoral research at Sussex. The overarching principles fall under the following groups:
- Celebrate the nature of doctoral research at Sussex
- Excellence and quality
- Sussex doctoral researcher experience
- Research integrity
- Employability and researcher development
- Connectivity
- Supervision
- Doctoral research environment
- The Sussex Doctorate
The principles can be viewed in full online on the Doctoral School website.
If you have any questions or queries about the Doctoral Strategy, please contact Miles Willey, Head of Research Student Administration Office and Doctoral School. Alternatively, please email doctoralschool@sussex.ac.uk.
